I manage a caseload of workers' compensation claims and begin the process by meeting with prospective clients and explaining contracts, and then sending out initial letters to insurance companies, employers, and the North Carolina Industrial Commission. I draft Industrial Commission forms as needed, and I draft various Motions as needed during the length of the claim. I manage all client contact and coordinate client-attorney meetings, recorded statements, and demand meetings. I prepare each file for demands and mediation and I meet with clients to draft settlement memos and disburse settlement funds. I calendar deadlines for mediations, hearings, and interrogatories and requests for production of documents. I draft Plaintiff's responses to discovery and itemize Defendant's responses to discovery, as well as responses to Rule 607/608 requests and I process and itemize medical records. I communicate regularly with clients, attorneys, insurance adjusters, nurse case managers, and Industrial Commission staff, including special deputy commissioners. I am proficient in Needles database, and Microsoft Office and use these tools extensively on a daily basis.

I managed a third-party debt collection portfolio for one of our clients that bought delinquent property taxes. I searched through liens, researched property values, and ordered titles for properties. I assessed the title reports and drafted Complaints to be served on debtors. I communicated with debtors and drafted Agreed Judgments for repayments, managed monetary transactions for repayments, kept track of repayment plans, and drafted Motions for Summary Judgment in the event that no payments were made. I developed a spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel for keeping track of the status of each Complaint we filed and to ensure we met court deadlines on each one so that foreclosure could ultimately take place.I also assisted in drafting and notarizing documents for wills & estates and real estate transactions and assisted the attorneys in the firm with tasks as needed.

I assisted a team of social workers in the Foster Care unit of the state Cabinet for Health and Family Services. I was promoted to building manager and was responsible for maintaining and assigning front desk duties among the support staff, I processed payroll timesheets in the KHRIS system, and I completed OSHA reports on an annual basis. I communicated with prospective foster parents and conducted the fingerprinting and background checks for prospective foster parents. I reviewed the building's lease and coordinated for repairs and services with the lessor and state budgetary committees. I ensured all safety equipment was up-to-date and all MSDS sheets were in compliance. I created files for foster parents and kept documentation current in each file. I ordered office supplies for the whole building and distributed accordingly. I completed other tasks and assignments as needed.
