I am an environmental scientist with specialized knowledge in microbial carbon and nitrogen cycling activity within agricultural systems with a special focus on greenhouse gas emissions and nitrification. I am interested in the management and protection of natural resources. I have wide-ranging research experience across environmental science, including research study design and execution, protocol development, successful grant writing, presentation of research results to a wide variety of lay and technical audiences, and writing and publishing a peer-reviewed studies. I received a BA in Anthropology and MS in Biological and Environmental Sciences from the University of Rhode Island and a PhD in Soil Science at Oregon State University. During my graduate studies, I became an experienced teaching assistant with a demonstrated history of working with introductory lab courses and a graduate research assistant working in soil microbial research techniques and greenhouse gas measurements. Currently I am a postdoctoral research assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where I am gaining experience in soil fertility extension research, general lab management, and data management. Additionally, I am the project manager for multiple cover crop field trials and part of a soil health database project team.
