To work as part of the Title I WIA (now WIOA) service provider, assisting with formalized up-skilling and development of individuals who are classified as Low-Income Adults and/or Dislocated Workers. These services included supports through Guidance and Counseling strategies, Objective Assessments and both short-term and long-term training and credentialing. Through this position the majority of persons served attend DMACC as the educational entity through which skill upgrades were needed to move into self-sustaining income and economic independence. To serve individuals through grant funding from the Department of Labor known as the Disability Employment Initiative which was tasked with expanding the capacity of the workforce system to better serve job seekers with disabilities by improving training and employment of persons with disabilities by focusing on career pathway entrance.
