The Hilyard Community Center is committed to ensuring that its facility and program services are accessible and usable by all people.• Adaptive Rec provided programs such as dance fusion, neuromuscular exercise, social club, nature walks, game time, support groups, yoga, swimming lessons, and day trips where participants would go to hiking areas or the coast. • As an intern, I specifically volunteered in the Wednesday and Saturday Nature Walks, Friday Rec, and Friday Game Time programs.• During Nature Walks I facilitated a group of at least 10 individuals as we walked around different parks and pathways in the Eugene/Springfield area. I was responsible for facilitating group discussions of program expectations and the safety of participants. I facilitated social conversations and made sure every individual was included in our walk, whether that was through conversations or adapting our walk to fit their physical strengths.• During Friday Rec I managed a group of about twelve to fifteen participants and facilitated different stations during the program. Each week we had a different theme for our program whether it was about nutrition or a day at the beach. We provided at least three stations per program: one craft, one physical activity, and one board game/other game. I was responsible for adapting our program activities to meet the needs of every individual so that everyone was able to participate and be included.• In Friday Game Time, I managed a group of eight or fewer participants. Each week we set out a station for board games and a station for a physical game such as ball toss. A few weeks we had the participants play the Wordle, Wii, or Jeopardy-style trivia. I was responsible for making sure that there were activities that every individual could fully participate in, or adapt if needed.
