All my life I wanted to become a small animal veterinarian, until a longleaf pinecone hit me on the head and knocked some sense into me.I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Management and a Minor in Watershed Sciences from Auburn University in May of 2023. Before I graduated, I accepted a position at Terracon Consultants in Birmingham to be a Wetland Field Scientist. During my time at Terracon, I have honed my wetland delineation skills, habitat assessment abilities, ArcGIS Pro experience, and grown my confidence as an emerging young professional in my field.I have been on the fast-track of life the past year, I graduated college, got my first career job at Terracon, moved back to my hometown in Birmingham, bought a home, got married, my husband got a great job in town, and we adopted two more dogs, making a total of four all within 12 months. Needless to say, I can handle a lot of high pressure situations and come out on top.I have delineated all across the southeastern United States, from the coast of Louisiana to the Appalachian Mountains in Tennessee. Sites as small as 0.5-acres, to as large as 2,800+-acres, I have done it all. Government projects, private developments, and many, many, many solar projects are just a small list of clients I have interacted with/ worked for as a consultant with Terracon.The thing I love most about my career so far, is the chance to get outside; see things not many people have the privilege of seeing, and making sure clients go through the proper channels to get their projects completed while making it as stress-free as possible for the client.I learn new and exciting things everyday, every project is a new opportunity to learn new plant species, animal species, and learn more about my region. I have always loved living in Alabama, and the more I work in this field, the more I love living here even more.
