Screenings were performed to determine the necessity for response to intervention (RTI2) and further assessments. Therapy sessions were conducted in a group or individual manner either directly with the child(ren) or in collaboration with classroom activities. IEP meetings were conducted with a team approach for each individual child to determine eligibility, placement, implementation of services, accommodations, and modifications for the classroom and all educational environments. In-services for teachers and staff were organized and presented to increase education about speech and language disorders with in the academic setting which included: developmental norms, language difference versus language disorder, and referral processes.

Consulted nurses for patient information. Performed bedside swallow studies to rule out aspiration and to recommend safe diet textures. Made appropriate referrals for speech therapy, physical therapy, and occupational therapy. Informed patient and family of deficits and provided family training. Attended team meetings to report on patient progress.
