At the Port Royal Sound Foundation, I assisted in running summer camps, field trips and educating guests as they explored the facility. During summer camps, we would do educational arts and crafts, educational boat tours, walking and kayak tours, teach the campers about different animals while letting them touch/hold the species, and overall making sure they are safe and having fun. Outside of summer camp, we had occasional field trips come in where we did some of the same things. When the facility didn’t have any scheduled tours, guests still came in with lots of questions and interest in the Port Royal Sound. It was my responsibility to educate them on the local area and answer any questions they had.

At Okatie nutrition, I was responsible for making the various drinks the shop sold correctly and efficiently. Often, we would be swarmed with customers but I would always work as proficiently as I could with a smile on my face. Customer service was very important to the owners of the shop, so as a staff member, I would ensure that I was always in a good mood, smiling and being friendly to the customers. I also had to often open and close the shop by myself and make sure everything was clean and organized. Before leaving, I would also have to count money, log down our number of sold items each day and enter them into a spreadsheet for the owners.

While being a nanny for three elementary aged children, they were all on online classrooms due to COVID. During the classroom times, I would ensure each child was on their zoom meeting and completing their class work. Outside of the classroom I would help with homework, tutor if necessary, and entertain them for the rest of the afternoon. We would often drive to the beach, go to the park, do several different arts and crafts or go to get ice cream. This job gave me the opportunity to grow my communication skills with children and help them in school outside of the actual classroom.
