I recently graduated from Dallas College with an Associate of Arts in Business Administration. At Dallas College, I learned valuable skills such as time management, technology troubleshooting, and Microsoft Word and Excel. I currently attend The University of Texas at Dallas and plan to complete my Bachelor of Science in Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence in May of 2027. I also work part-time as a store manager at a local coffee shop. This work experience has developed my skills in multitasking and problem-solving, along with improving my communication and customer service skills. My position as manager requires me to interview potential employees and train new hires. Additionally, I am responsible for keeping track of and ordering inventory along with making shift schedules. Although this work experience doesn’t directly relate to business analytics, it has provided me with foundational interpersonal skills such as collaboration, listening, and effective communication.I am currently enrolled in courses such as Information Technology for Business and Quantitative Business Analysis where I am learning how to interpret data using charts and tables. I have also learned how to model a business process and identify areas that need improvement to increase efficiency. Many of my courses encourage the use of artificial intelligence as a learning aid to ensure concepts are understood outside of the classroom. This work with AI is providing me with experience in relevant technology that will be utilized in my future career. After completing my degree, I hope to enter the workforce as a business analyst with a focus in consulting. To me, consulting serves as a middle ground between the data side and the people side of business analytics. My experience working with customers and problem-solving mixed with my education in information systems and analyzing data makes consulting the perfect fit for me.
