I support the Midwest and East Regions of NRG in various aspects of Human Resources. I provide strategic human resources business partner support to management and employees. As an HR Generalist I serve as a liaison with Regional Business Unit and Corporate HR Departments. I am both an employee and management advocate. I am a part of the Project Manager Office (PMO) within HR so I work on numerous projects from acquisitions to reductions and from innovative ways to help new hires learn about everything they need to know about working at our company to creating self-service tools for my managers. I work with recruiters to ensure rapid placement of new hires and often help the recruiting department schedule interviews when they are in need. I am involved in working with the unions of NRG. I conduct employee relations investigations, summarize results, and implement recommended actions. Additional duties include handling disability claims, sending reports regarding various items such as payroll, recruiting, and workers compensation. I also work closely with the union and handle grievances and any issue that arises. I administer testing for candidates applying for positions within NRG and track disciplines across the Midwest and East.

I came on with the company in January of 2016 to ensure compliance with all employee information. As an HR Generalist at Ottawa Plant Food Inc. I was responsible with keeping personnel files up to date and compliant with state and federal laws. I have also conducted a market salary survey with cities in the local area to determine fairness among employee's salaries. I created at-will statements and created an employee handbook for the company.
