Joined Indian Revenue Service in 1979 and worked for over 35 years in almost all functional areas of the Income Tax Department, going up the ladder from Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax to ADD. Commissioner, Commissioner ( Appeals), Commissioner and Chief Commissioner Also in between had the occasion to work outside the cadre , on deputation,for about six years,.Firstly in 1986 with D.G.S.&D, an organisation dealing with a major part of Govt procurement ( at that time), wherein my role was to oversee, among other things, the vendor base of over 5000 firms. Thereafter, in 2004 , was appointed as Chief Vigilance Officer of M/S HINDUSTAN ORGANIC CHEMICALS, a schedule B Public Sector Unit, having plants at Rasayani( Mumbai)and Cochin.. Was a Board level posting and formed part of the management team. Had a very successful stint ,both in terms of self development as also contributing to systems development of the company..I had started my working career as a lecturer in UnIv of Delhi and was teaching Econonics to under grads and Statistics to economics postgraduate students,for four years.I still am deeply into economic analysis and market research.Had short duration training courses at Wharton Business School,Univ. of Pennsylvania, IIM Bangalore, Maxwell Business School, Syracuse Univ, IIPA DELHI , UTI Institute of Capital Markets,N Mumbai,at various stages of the career. The varied and the vast experience, as enumerated above, has been instrumental in my developing expertise over a number of functional areas and offering consultancy/ related services in the following areas . 1.
