About Ashmi Sheth
Immensely passionate about the arts, I strongly believe in the therapeutic power of the arts to heal people and change lives. Having nurtured this dream to be an Art Therapist for the past many years, I am finally qualified with a M.A. in Counselling & Art Therapy from PennWest Edinboro University, USA, after 2.5 years of extensive rigour & training in art therapy with experts in the field. Ever since I have discovered this profession, it has been my dream and goal to establish art therapy as a distinct, accessible, and affordable mental wellness service in India.I have had the fortunate experience of working with people from diverse cultures, age groups, and with varied disabilities through my internships with the Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorder Society (PDMDS), Neurology Foundation, and The Red Pencil Organization. Following my natural inclination towards working with the geriatric population, my first experience of using art therapeutically was with groups of senior adults at an assisted living and memory care centre in Naperville, Chicago. Based on my research on corporate art therapy, I collaborate with organisations to utilise the power of art therapy to enhance individual and organisational growth and wellbeing. I aim to bring about a change in people’s perspective about art and arts-related professions, and that can be done best by having them experience the transformational power of art therapy themselves!Reach out to know more about art therapy and how you can become a qualified art therapist!
