Thrown into the deep end, I learnt how to swim. I was assigned the role of an anchor for the only business show of the channel 4 days into the job. Stocks Calling (earlier branded as “Scriptease”) was a call in show for retail investors that, despite the scope of the channel, saw viewers dialing in from large parts of South East Asia, the Gulf and of course Chennai and the southern states. I also matured into a prime-time anchor for the channel, hosting heated debates, with big-ticket panelists on contemporary issues. I also operated as the only business reporter from the channel, tracking the changes in the business landscape of one of the most industrialized states in the country – Tamil Nadu.
