Provided technical support on urban, low-income/affordable housing, and housing microfinance to the Housing Finance team to develop projects that target a broader range on the income spectrum with a wider range of products. Established linkages between the housing finance and urban technical groups at the Bank, and provided cross-support on broader policy and project design issues related to urbanization and city development, with a focus on low-income housing, informal settlements, and land markets.

Development Poverty and Politics: Putting Communities in the Driver's Seat, Routledge; December 2010.This book explores development from the perspective of the poor: who they are, what lives they live, what matters to them, and most importantly, what they can do about it. It emphasizes the need to give communities legitimate control of their own environment, and suggests ways to make development practice more effective by emphasizing the underlying ‘process’ rather than the ‘product,’ in a way that the communities are true leaders/ drivers of the process rather than mere participants.
