About Allison Nieman
My goal as an artist and designer is to foster the creative spirit in everyone around me and to help build strong communication lines between companies and their users by utilizing accessible visual designs and design thinking principles. Over the course of teaching graphic design and game development I have worked on creating a positive impact on those around me through open communication, giving and receiving feedback, setting clear goals, and building trust through collaborative projects. I strive to create spaces where graphic design and game development are accessible to all.As an Assistant Professor of 3D Digital Design and VFX at Northern Kentucky University, I am proud to have taught the next generation of artists and designers who share my passion for graphic design, game development, and design thinking. I started my journey in the Fall Semester of 2021 and learned so much about leadership, project management, and inclusive education from my colleagues and students during my tenure at NKU. I hold a Master of Fine Arts in Interactive Design and Game Development from Savannah College of Art and Design, where I developed my thesis project Sitka; a serious game that aims to mitigate general anxiety in young adults by utilizing digital environments.
