Drive Xeon be relevant as a mission critical processor. Driving architecture and software innovation for reducing downtime, improve availability for high end server segments. Recently looking at SoC architecture and improving experience with Linux on these embedded platforms.

Working with Platform Architects and Solaris engineers to enhance Solaris Operating System. Making Intel, the platform of choice for Server Operating Systems. Lead effort to integrate IOMMU architecture for Solaris and architecting Hotplug infrastructure and consulting. Lately leading research in Solaris to improve Machine Check Recovery and optimizing Power Management for Solaris to ensure Platform Power management technologies are supported in Server Operating Systems.

Implemented and current maintainer for CPU hotplug on x86_64 and ia64 architectures in the Linux kernel. Currently working on VT-D architecture, a.k.a Directed I/O architecture that premits direct device assignment to guest operating systems to vastly improve I/O performance on enterprise virtualization solutions such as XEN etc.Prior to this, i was team lead for first implementation of Infiniband from Intel. We used a common code approach, and had the same source compile and function on 4 different operating environments such as Linux, Windows, VxWorks, OpenBSD including boot time EFI environment.

As kernel lead, responsible for leading a team of 7 engineers through new product development, sustaining maintanence for Pyramid's Reliant Unix Operating System, based on SVR4 unix. Responsible for first fibre channel drivers, SAN solution and distributed I/O design and development for Pyramid's MESH based system architecture.

 Tuned and Streamlined data centers for UMI, Michigan; Cellular One, Greensboro NC, Advantis Processing centre for Discover Card Services, Schaumberg Chicago. Part of a team on a $11 million project from Discover Card to convert from mainframe to Sequent High end Unix Systems. Oracle Database and Kernel tuning for performance management. Wrote SCSI driver for symbios NCR53XX series for Dynix/Ptx based Media server project.

Team Lead porting Logic Master, ladder logic based programming environment from VAX Pascal to C on HPUX operating systems for GE Fanuc Corporation.

Member of a 6 person team, developing an internal SQL database suite of software. Responsible for Forms and Menu WYSIWYG editor. Implemented a 4GL language for forms trigger support, to support forms variables and execute forms

Designed Switched Mode Power Supplies as part of a design team for the first Indigenous SMPS design and Manufacturing in India. Designed automated test systems using GPIB controlled equipment to automate factory testing of manufactured units.
