Started the first small arm business in the private sector in India, having state of art manufacturing plant and producing multiple products for India and Exports.

Heading the Defence &Aerospace business for Punj Lloyd Group Ashok created six vertices in Defence, Aerospace and Homeland Security. He set up multiple partnership and JV’s for transfer of technology from different parts of the world.

In 2010 GE decided to invest $200Million in a new manufacturing facility in India, a flagship manufacturing site for GE having India relevant products and services across multiple business segments, with cutting edge technology and a world class manufacturing campus housing 2500+ employees. My role as the core 3 member leadership team was to build the blue print for this manufacturing plant and drive it from strategy to production.

Moved to GE Money India to grow the SBI Card business and then in a short span first took over the Quality leader role for the whole Consumer Finance India businesses, subsequently in 2009 took over the Quality Leader role for GE Capital India (combination of the Consumer Finance and Commercial Finance businesses).

Joined GE as a Six Sigma Black Belt, got certified in 1.5 years.After delivering in India was selected for a STAR assignment in Atlanta US for a year to improve customer satisfaction and customer experience across multiple locations.Moved back to India to grow the Multi Client business of GE Money Americas being serviced only from India.

P&L leader (Southern Region) for a USD 20 Million company producing diverse range of products, from basic forging to fully finished precision automotive components and sub- assemblies. • Started the manufacturing facility at Chennai as a separate SBU and transformed it to a profit center in 2 years. • Operating as P&L leader for the 3 manufacturing plants in Chennai achieved the targeted net income & other specific business matrices including revenue growth, operating expenses, gross margin & operating profits.• Spearheaded the International Marketing for the company focusing on the European market and expanded the company’s export turnover by 100%

TATA international Ltd. is a Super Star Trading House and the International Marketing arm of TATA's a premier Industrial House in India. • Created the strategy for the Chennai division & defined the business/financial model to make it profitable in 2 years. • Executed the strategy by building the customer base in Europe & US market and developed the vendor base for the engineering products like forging, casting & corrugated sheets.
