oPlanning & Controls Engineer Qatari Diar Egypt (St Regis Cairo Hotel).At St Regis Cairo hotel, located on Nile Corniche between Al Ahly Bank and The World Trade Center with built up area of almost 197,000 m2 of hotel rooms, suites, and furnished apartments, currently (October 2012) at the superstructure stage, I am responsible for schedule(s) and controls. Duties, include, but not limited to, managing Qatar Project Management (QPM) (engaged in October 2009) to:1. Consultants and Contractors schedule assessments (establishing baseline schedule), including the validation of scope of work, percent complete, activities' logic, milestones status, number of activities, resources status, shop drawings & material submittal log, and cash flow. 2. Monitor approved schedule(s) through regular (usually twice a month) updates and two-week look ahead extracts, reporting deviations (if any), activities leading completion, and assist mitigation effort in case of delays 3. Make sure that procurement and drawings submittal schedules are well coordinated with the detailed working schedule 4. Participate at daily and weekly construction & progress meetings including different parties and monitor the set due dates 5. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports. Reports include planned Vs actual quantities, progress site photos, and areas of concern.6. Prepare project master schedule including cash flow loading7. Participate at claims and variations time analysis

In the extension of Maadi City Center, located in Maadi along the Ring Road, I am responsible for representing MAF on site for the construction of double deck car park of almost 18,000 m2 and the addition of 42 new stores. Duties include, but not limited to,1. Make sure that all parties, consultant, quantity surveyor, and contractor, are complying with the project scope. 2. Prepare site status reports reflecting the Planned vs. the Actual construction activities.3. Prepare and attend progress meetings 4. Attend technical meetings 5. Make sure that the operator's requirements are met

In the City Stars project located in Nasr City, Cairo, Egypt; i was at the Inter Continental and its Furnished Apartments. City Starts Total land area is 115,000 sqm. and total built-up area is 780,000 sqm. The project has a cost of almost 800 Million U.S Dollars. Duties were not limited to the planning and cost control, they included de-snagging and final handing over to the Hotel Operator after completing the other packages included in the guest floors (FF&E, lighting, etc.).In the Planning Department, Responsible for the Inter-Continental Hotel & the Furnished Apartments Tower. Duties include three main tasks as follows,1. FUNCTIONAL TASKS• Preparation of monthly report.• Schedule assessments, two week basis.• Two week rolling schedule to consultants and inactive report to contractor.• Compilation of schedules of different packages to achieve a reliable Master Schedule.2. SUPPORT TO CONSTRUCTION• Extracts of critical activities and area of concern.• Preparation for; and attending progress meetings.• Support in coordination among different packages and interface management with other departments.• Follow-up and report construction percentage completion.• Support the issuance of construction monthly report.• Assist in handing over process to hotel operator.I was responsible for handing over the guest rooms, guest corridors, and service areas in typical guest floors, which includes: o Allocate operator's snag list to various responsible contractors.o Plan for the reasonable resources to get the snags done.o Follow up de-snagging process rectifying the operator's comments throughout the hotel blocks.o Handover areas to the operator after rectifying comments.o Prepare progress report for completed, on going, and pending tasks.o Attend progress meetings with owner, project manager, operator, and contractors, to coordinate the handing over processThese tasks require good knowledge of Primavera, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
