With over 16 cumulative years of experience at Agence France-Presse (AFP), I recently opted for early retirement to pursue freelance journalism. Currently, I report and write extensively on a diverse range of subjects pertaining to Pakistan, including geopolitics, environmental issues, economic developments, security matters, social dynamics, and political affairs.Prior to my tenure at AFP, I served as a reporter for the Associated Press (AP) at their Karachi office until May 2011. My initial stint with AFP spanned from 2001 to 2006, during which I primarily covered economic and commerce sectors. However, in the aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, my responsibilities expanded to include general reporting alongside economic news coverage, enabling me to report on major stories that unfolded in that pivotal period.In addition to my work with wire services, I have contributed articles to other prestigious publications like the Far Eastern Economic Review (FEER) of Dow Jones, where I wrote extensively until its closure in 2004.My journalistic career also includes a role as an assistant editor at Daily Times in Karachi, further enriching my experience across various media platforms.
