Ashraf served as at the African Leadership University (ALU) in the Student Life department. His most basic task was helping students get the most out of their experiences at the university. His tasks were mainly based on helping students to find their own niche on campus; connect with students within or beyond their residence hall, organization, or academic program; get involved in student organizations, leadership opportunities, and campus jobs and internships; and choose the housing and dining and living options that work best for them. He was also a part of setting and establishing an excellent athletic program as part of ALU's aliveness strategy alongside contributing to the other elements in that strategy. Furthermore, he helped in the drafting process of the entire ALU ALIVE strategy with the supervision of his line manager. Also, he led the housing allocation team which handled the placement of 300+ students from over 35 different nationalities and various backgrounds in over 5 university dorms while maintaining an excellent diversity ratio per residence, floor and room.

Ashraf joined DAL Group's Coca-Cola company upon a recommendation from then Sales Service Manager. He was assigned to help in advising on sales analysis and the implementation of better strategies and measurement tools. He helped in setting up data logging systems that has improved data process efficiency by ~40%. The systems also helped in having more accurate estimates to the fleet management. He also aided the Distribution Manager, Regional Sales Manager and others in identifying potential investment opportunities by conducting an initial reviewon Coca-Cola Sudan that increased growth alternatively to cost-cutting. He also analyzed and advised on a $2 million revenue stream.

Ashraf helped in developing SWOT methodologies, and response to competitive landscapes which directly grew net sales. He also carried out sales analysis of revenue streams that were used to aid the COO with board presentations and strategic decisions. Furthermore, Ashraf advised, designed and implemented all marketing materials that led to sales increase over the last year quarter. He also developed and fostered an atmosphere of cooperation and trust among employees with Chief of Staff responsibilities.

In 2013, Ashraf founded Nasna Foundation for Public Services while he was traveling around schools in Sudan promoting the African Leadership Academy. He noticed huge differences between his generation and the current: lack of second language fluency, lack of opportunities for public schools and self-development, and a general lack of drive or passion. He also realized that the obstacles to ALA promotion were the same as those to other forms of education. Of course, financial aspects were a factor, but cultural factors, like people believing that ALA was a scam, also got in the way. This led him to reach out to the Ministry of Education in Sudan, and they were very cooperative in terms of acknowledging ALA programs. He also worked to change public opinion by appearing on TV to dispel common myths about education abroad and to promote ALA programs.Nasna Foundation for Public Services is an independent, non-profit organization whose purpose is to help the students and teachers in Sudan excel through programs that are not funded by public tax revenues, molding them into dynamic leaders with a commitment to public service. The foundation’s core interests are in Education, Entrepreneurship, and Youth development. Nasna Foundation is working toward an internationally recognized Sudanese certificate and to prepare young university students for greater success in higher education. Furthermore, we’re planning to help establish AIESEC Sudan, which will benefit tourism in the country and will increase the number of volunteers as well. Ashraf was handed the job when the organization suffered a huge lack of excellent leadership in that position. He traveled from a country to another to attract potential students to ALA. He was also responsible for contacting school principals and management, Ministries of education and PR personnel. Furthermore, he was also responsible for booking venues and assisting in supervising the logistical admission procedures of the Finalists Weekend event

Ashraf worked as a junior multimedia designer at LinoMedia to help in editing and producing multimedia products like sporting events, weddings, anniversaries etc... Ashraf was in charge of video editing particularly, promotional videos for pro-athletes. During that period, Ashraf used his experience of using programs like Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Cyberlink PowerDirector etc... to complete his tasks.
