Established a company-wide security program from the ground-up for software development, cloud infrastructure (AWS), IT, and physical security. Embedded security in all phases of the agile and DevOps software development life-cycle. Achieved company's first SOC 2 Type II certification (Availability, Confidentiality, and Security areas) in 5 months' time. Oversaw gap assessment, remediation, and audit. Successfully completed the company's first BC/DR testing.

Created a research team and set research goals. Drove planning and execution for all research activities, working with key stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery of the Product Roadmap. Hired and mentored a Director of Research and Cryptography Engineer.

Led the practice, introduced the overall technical vision for the solution, and successfully completed the product architecture and design.

Worked at the Bavarian School of Public Policy/Hochschule für Politik where I researched data privacy expectations and data practices in the Internet, mobile, and IoT contexts. Used network analysis, content analysis, and mobile app analysis.Created and taught the graduate-level course “Privacy and Security in the Realms of Big Data” to 12 students.

Was part of the School of Computer Science where I worked on data privacy and security issues such as behavioral profiling, online data privacy expectations, cyber-physical systems security, and usability of fingerprint authentication in mobile phones. Used surveys, interviews, grounded analysis, and parametric statistics to conduct user studies.

Worked at CyLab and CERT on projects related to password security, network security, malware analysis and digital forensics. Developed tool to extract AES and Serpent encryption keys from RAM dumps for Truecrypt whole disk encryption. Assisted with One-Click fraud research by writing scripts to run DNS blacklist tests.

Was part of the BREW Integration Team where I was responsible for the first BREW bring up on Snapdragon SoC (QSD8xxx). Received QUALSTAR recognition for "Extraordinary effort to meet an unplanned milestone." Debugged phone freeze, crash and boot up issues across the full protocol stack. Coordinated with 10+ dev, test, tools, and target teams to ensure timely fixes and releases. Managed 2/3 engineers as sub-lead.

Was part of the Architecture/Backend Team where I was responsible for the development and hotfixes for an in-memory database of the Appian Business Process Management Suite.Worked on database inter-gateway communication, hot backup recovery, check-pointing, and corrupt transaction log recovery.

Was part of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering where I worked on in-memory database system for flash-based handheld devices. Developed and implemented algorithms that identify the optimal level of compression for data in order to reduce query processing time.

Worked for the Network Security Group of the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics research, design, and development where I was involved on mobile IPSec VPN client, IP packet interceptor, and TLS proxy client and server.

Worked as a lecturer for the Department of Computer Science and Engineering where I taught UNIX systems programming and Client/Server programming to students.
