The easiest way to phrase what I do is create intelligent algorithms to work with complex biological data in real-time.At Immergo labs, my role as CTO involves crafting code to predict full-body biomechanics and health metrics in real-time. With these capabilities, we enable Physical Therapists to help accurately assist their patients remotely, as if they were in the same room. This was inspired by earlier research revolving around biomechanics of soft robotic arms and soft exo-suits.On the other hand, I am nearing the end of my time as a PhD candidate exploring the capabilities of learning and closed-loop interaction with cortical organoids (stem cell-derived 3D cultures). This takes processing gigabytes of data within minutes in order to encode/decode signals along with the necessary training modulatory signals. I've successfully seen learning during a traditional control task, and am working on finishing my dissertation. Finally, I believe these capabilities need to be made accessible, and I am planning to release the software I've created as open-source, so scientists can recreate and build off these findings after a quick `pip install`!I really enjoy the interface of intelligent computing and state-of-the-art hardware to create new paradigms, tools, and capabilities to empower others.
