Ash is the Chief Procurement Officer of Montgomery County, Maryland where he leads a team of approximately 40 sourcing and compliance specialists. Ash and his team are responsible for a portfolio of more than 3,000 contracts worth public funds exceeding $5 billion. Even as the Office of Procurement in Montgomery County responded to the greatest public health crisis in a generation, Ash was able to usher in e-procurement and set new records in spending with women and minority owned businesses. A Management Consulting veteran at Gartner and EY, Ash has worked with leaders of blue chip companies around the world to tackle issues related to Supplier Management, Organizational Structure Design, Sourcing Technology Implementation, Category Management and Risk Management. Ash and his team have won numerous national and local awards for innovation in procurement and process rigor. Appointed by the governor of Maryland and confirmed by the senate, Ash is currently a member of the state’s Procurement Improvement Council.
