In my efforts to enhance quality health patterns in my students I will work democratically with other teachers and administration to encourage lifelong health throughout the entire school. In a safe and welcoming environment I want students to learn and participate in physical activity that they enjoy and that they are willing to spend time improving on, not something that is a forced regiment. Physical activity has the potential to be interactive, pleasurable, and fun while challenging and improving physical strength, endurance and overall well-being. As a health and physical education teacher I believe it is my responsibility to help students find and stick with their motivators, as well as teach them how to be their healthiest self. As a coach, I strongly believe that school athletics should be an extension of the students educational school day and not separate. I believe that positive experience in sport is dependent on students being able to take away life lessons learned through sport and apply them outside of sport. My mission as a physical and health educator and coach is to help shape well-rounded individuals through, frequent activity, good sportsmanship, positive social interaction, and outstanding ethical conduct. I strive to encourage self-realization of the students to understand the importance of physical fitness, a positive self-image and lifelong health.
