Over the past four years I have had the wonderful opportunity to not only work in the Behavioral Health field, but also to grow as a professional. I started my journey as a Registered Behavior Technician providing Applied Behavioral Analysis services under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. After 6 months, I transitioned to the business side of ABA as the Administrative Assistant to the Director of Operations. Within a few months, I was promoted to Authorizations Specialist on the Revenue Cycle Management Team. Then, in August of 2021 I was promoted to Authorizations Coordinator. As an authorizations coordinator, I have had the pleasure of advocating for those with special needs to receive ABA therapy, as well as helping parents learn to navigate the insurance world so that they can advocate for their children. I always tell the parents I speak to and my co-workers, a parent’s voice is much louder and much much more effective.I am also a parent to a child on the spectrum. My son has taught me a great deal about who I am as a person and how to speak up for those that are not heard. I would not be where I am today and I would not have chosen this career path if not for him. I am so very thankful to be his mother and I am beyond blessed to be able to use what he has taught me to empower other parents.
