Sports has always been a significant part of my life. Competitive swimming in middle school and high school, managing sports clubs in college, and being a sports fanatic in general have all led me to pursue a career in the world of sports. I graduated in 2020 from The University of Tennessee with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management. Throughout my time at UT, I knew I wanted to be in a career that revolved around sports and, in doing so, change the way society sees sports. Growing up a competitive athlete, you learn the value of teammates, hard work, and perseverance. To that degree, competitive sports set me up to be a hard-working leader in the jobs I've had. During my time in college, I spent a year working for the Club Sports as a Club manager. This role helped me hone skills such as money management, team travel documentation, and leadership. Overseeing five clubs at the university required us to have monthly meetings with the club leaders, oversee travel requests, and ensure accurate financial transactions for said travel requests. Other than my job with sports clubs, I held an internship position for a couple of years for Tennessee Aquatics, a competitive swim program in Knoxville, TN. This position gave me insight into ticket sales, event setup with the city visitors program, and event marketing through incentives and advertisement. Now I am looking forward to the next step in my life and hope to bring my knowledge, work ethic, and personality to change the way people think about sports. Sports are more than an extracurricular activity or a weekend on the couch supporting a team; sports shape people into hard working, goal setting individuals who come together to be the leaders of tomorrow. I hope I can have an inkling of an influence on the way sports are perceived in society today.
