* Responsible for the electrical design of a target vehicle test bed and HWIL system to support software development and performed closed-loop simulations of high-valued assets. Design incorporated system avionics in combination with custom and COTS hardware to dynamically switch between real or simulated avionics, all packaged in movable rack assemblies. Rapid design allowed system to be developed, assembled and placed into commission in less than one year.* Supported design and integration of electrical ground support equipment of ground and mobile launch systems. Developed assembly drawings for interconnect cabling and test hardware assemblies. Conducted verification tests of launch support equipment.* Participated in all stages of assembly, integration, and tests of targets supporting MDA ballistic missile defense exercises. Traveled to multiple launch sites as a part of launch team and launch console operator for extended periods of time, all currently resulting in 100% success. Activities included launch site activation, serving as test conductor for final testing and validation, and final launch countdown operations. Supporting responsibilities also included failure review board activities including troubleshooting, documenting, reworking and retesting tasks.* Developed test procedures for Flight Termination Systems by working with RCC standards and Range Safety personnel. * Served as chief engineer during final design and intergration of AubieSat-1 CubeSat, placed into orbit on Oct 28, 2011. Operationally successful for 2 years, 2 months. Top level responsibilities included participating in by-weekly teleconferences with NASA ELANA mission manager, presented at events on project design and mission, provided technical technical oversight into develop of all systems, and implemented training sessions for new members. * Performed system engineering tasks including defining requirements, developing test plans and procedures, calculating power budgets, and formalizing interface control documents.Implemented and tested bi-directional UHF RF communication subsystem. Tasks included impedance matching analysis, implementation and refinement through testing using RF test equipment.* Successfully designed power subsystem that greatly exceeded mission time-line and performed power measurement of solar panel encapsulate science mission. Design included efficiently capturing solar power using custom DC/DC converters controlled by software using Maximum Peak Power Tracking to accommodate for spacecraft tumbling. Design also included battery charging scheme for Lithium Ion batteries to maximize lifetime.* Extensive multi-layer PCB design of all subsystems, including RF comms and solar panels.
