I led a transformative initiative aimed at optimizing internal pricing processes through the implementation of a cutting-edge workflow system. Leveraging my expertise in software development and workflow automation, I utilized Activiti as the underlying framework to develop a Kubernetes-based microservice using gRPC technology.My role involved architecting and developing a robust service that enabled internal users to create and review workflows for prices and discounts seamlessly, in line with BPMN specifications. This involved translating complex business requirements into efficient and scalable workflow solutions. One of the key challenges addressed was the need to handle a massive volume of approval workflows efficiently.To address this challenge, I devised and implemented a sophisticated bucketing algorithm that significantly enhanced the underlying framework's throughput. This optimization boosted the system's performance from handling 1000 workflows per minute to an impressive 30000 workflows per minute, enabling BigBasket to manage bulk approvals with ease and efficiency.
