• Designed automated scripts to reformat code in over 350 files in the codebase to improve readability.• Dealt with over 200 test failures in the testbed, adhering to MathWorks’s strict timeline, to ensure a feature could be shipped off in the 2024a release.• Created a test component to verify a tester tool that tested a key component in MathWork’s AUTOSAR blockset.• Learned about MathWork’s software development tools and workflows to deploy code efficiently.

• Carried out a research placement in the Engineering Department in Cambridge, working with the Centre for Sustainable Road Freight.• Greatly improved the existing Drive Cycle Simulator for HGV vehicles by performing large scale data analysis from observed trip data using python. Needed to implement efficient algorithms to process vast amounts of data. • Created an effective battery electric vehicle model to simulate charge cycles for any HGV vehicle journey.• Created scripts to clean and extract observed trip data for future data analysis.

• Carried out an internship in Magway, a start-up based in west London working on a sustainable system of transporting goods using linear magnetic motors. • Worked on a project to design, build, and program a testing rig to act as a quality assessment for linear magnetic motors to find faulty motors. Created electrical, software and mechanical documentation along with a report at the end to allow easy handover of project.• Learnt to program microcontrollers using c++, python and ethernet communication protocols.• Researched, designed, and built electronics.• Used Solidworks to design and 3D print various parts.• Created a MATLAB script to run post data analysis on the motion of carriages on a test track.• Worked collaboratively with the whole team on other projects as well as various tasks that needed to be done such as running tests for carts on the test track as well as installing mechanical and electrical equipment.

Worked in Huddersfield Manufacturing Centre as a student engineer via the Year in Industry scheme. Gained experience in analysing Safety Integrity Trip systems. This included writing up Alarm and Trip Diagrams, reading Plant Line Diagrams and professional engineering drawings as well using the software Aprotec, SAP, Query and Trend. Also developed an understanding of using Simulink and Simit software while simulating the effects of a newly hypothesised temperature control system on a novel reactor. This has led to the new reactor running as safely and quickly as possible.
