Acting as a liaison between the Data Platform and other organizations to build a cohesive Metadata Strategy across Netflix.Managing a high-performing team responsible for the following critical services- Netflix-wide Data Catalog to capture and infer business metadata across all datasets at Netflix. The data catalog also provides schema management capabilities to help datasets interoperate across systems and manage the lifecycle of schemas in different data stores.- Distributed Search Infrastructure for all Data Entities.- Data Lineage Infrastructure to track data movement and lineage across various data stores.- Extensible policy engine framework that allows our stakeholders to customize data policy rules (like data lifecycle management rules) for all datasets.

My team is responsible for the analytical data infrastructure (includes hundreds of thousands of datasets and hundreds of petabytes of data) that enables our business stakeholders to make business decisions efficiently and with ease. We have built a Netflix-wide data catalog and schema registry to capture and infer business metadata across all datasets at Netflix. We also own the data detection framework that could sample, detect, and report violations across all datasets and a pluggable policy engine framework that allows users to customize data policy rules for all datasets.

- Responsible for the back-end charter of Splunk Mission Control; ran 2 scrum teams owning 8 microservices.- Managed a team of 12 engineers and 1 manager.- Devised and executed on Software development and delivery strategy. Made appropriate tradeoffs to ensure delivery of features while stabilizing and scaling the platform.- Improved developer productivity by enforcing modern CI/CD best practices and TDD. - Responsible for bootstrapping a new team to build an Industrial IoT application at Splunk- Grew the team from 4 to 10 engineers.- Successfully delivered the MVP and subsequently the 1.0 version of the product to customers by working closely with cross functional teams.- The product was delivered with the highest quality amidst hard deadlines.

- Designed and Developed features for and maintained Splunk's DB Connect Application, which serves as the main connector for most Relational Databases including MySQL, Oracle, Postgres and SQL Server.- Scaled the product to be able to organize and crunch terabytes of data using multi-threading andconcurrency.- Mentored a team of Junior engineers.

Joined as the 11th employee and added multiple features to Clari's Revenue Operations Platform.

- Worked on Symantec (originally Clearwell) E-Discovery Platform in the areas of Document Review, Production and Export.- Developed a Centralized Resource Manager to manage CPU intensive Document Review resources and I/O intensive Export resources across multiple nodes in a cluster. This component helped to linearly scale the performance of time-critical Review and Export workflows as more nodes were added.- Added multiple features to selectively cache document images for Review and Production in advance, thus decreasing the actual review time by 80%.- Identified bottlenecks in the Export workflow and resolved them by making modules highly multi-threaded, thereby achieving 4X performance for Exports. - Primary technical point of contact for the integration of the 3rd party software used for Review and Production Imaging. Worked on re-designing the framework for integrating this software for better maintainability and increased reliability.- Tech Lead for a team of 7 Engineers.- Worked very closely with Product Management and Architects to thoroughly understand requirements and put together initial design of features.- Worked directly with customer support and sales to provide innovative customer solutions.- Involved in project/release planning and member of key decision making committee. - Presented demos and info sessions of new features to the field, as well as some highly escalated customers.

- Worked on Research & Development efforts for the next generation Warehouse Management System (WMS)- Developed the Lock/Unlock Framework for the biggest cross-product integration in the organization. WMS and Transportation Management System (TMS) were the 2 major products integrated which share common objects. The Framework ensured atomicity of updates on common objects by both systems.- Designed and developed the Inventory Caching Framework with use of appropriate data structures to cache the values of item inventory in the warehouse and their corresponding locations. This enabled faster lookups for inventory allocation, thereby improving performance. - Worked closely with a team of Developers, QA Engineers and Product Management to design and develop Manhattan’s WMS on the new Supply Chain Process Platform (SCPP), using Java/J2EE technologies.- Primarily worked on the Outbound Module which includes Inventory Allocation through the Wave process (“The Backbone of WMS”), Pick-Pack and Transportation Execution.
