Experienced engineering leader with a focus on high performance systems design. I have built inference and training acceleration hardware, enterprise grade NAND flash storage, microprocessor subsystems, multi million gate ASIC-s as well as high performance digital signal processor chips for communications systems. I am passionate about the technologies I work with and am extremely hands on from abstract architecture, logical implementation, physical fabrication through manufacturing test and optimization. I currently work as part of the Infrastructure team here at Facebook. My primary focus is on building chips and accelerators to help power our data processing needs. In my past roles I have built appliances for Machine Learning and Spark analytics, Storage Class Memory controllers, All Flash array design with line rate data compression and de-duplication. I have also worked on high throughput SSD and HDD storage systems design and worked with multiple ODM and manufacturing partners to take my designs to production. I have over 30 patents awarded in the areas of flash controller architecture, high performance storage system design, hardware accelerator design as well as in data compression and de-duplication algorithm design.

I work closely with the SW team and direct the implementation of the flash related policies within the firmware stack. I interface with all flash vendors and work with them to understand their road map and product schedules. I fold this information into our own development schedules and work with marketing to define our product roll out.
