My name is Ashwin, I am currently a university student studying Commerce, who has had experience in the finance sector in both a professional and academic environment. Throughout the last few years I have been exposed to a variety of experiences that have helped develop skills essential in a professional environment. The most notable would be working on team projects, which provided me with the opportunity to develop key skills such as workload/deadline management and working with different people.From a finance perspective, my experiences include utilising applications such as Excel and Fact-set to make and manage various portfolios under different models. This granted exposure to a variety of asset classes and the considerations needed when investing in a complex portfolio. From a professional standpoint having the chance to practice with a consulting firm to help optimise their technology stack was a great chance to expand my business skills in a real-world scenario. Working as the Financial manager for Jost & Co, I gained insight into budgeting and cash flow management, and also more long term skills such as predicting an investments future value based on research.
