Biomedical Engineer with a passion for research, experimental design, healthcare data analytics and neuroscience.Currently work as a Biomedical Engineer at the Laboratory of Integrative Neuroscience in the Department of Ophthalmology at SUNY Research Foundation. My lab and I study the neuronal and perceptual correlations of fixational eye movements. We design psychophysics experiments to understand how fixational eye movements effect visual perception, attention and cognition. We test oculomotor phenomenon like Joint and Split Attention, various aspects of foveal and peripheral vision, and vision in certain abnormal or diseased states. My responsibilities include design and programming of psychophysics experiments, calibration and tracking of eye movements, tackling software and hardware issues with the eye tracking system; data collection, cleaning, and interpretation; data analysis which includes using Machine Learning techniques to obtain signatures or develop models of eye movements; and data visualization.Worked on a couple of Grant proposals, one being a Future of Work at the Human-Technology Frontier (FW-HTF) and the other being a National Institute of Health (NIH) Research Project Grant (R01). Produced data and figures for a paper presentation at the Society for Neuroscience (SfN) Conference 2018. Working towards the publication of 4 papers in the Neuron, Journal of Neuroscience, PeerJ and The Royal Society Journal respectively.Acquired a Masters Degree in Biomedical Engineering from Columbia University Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science. My areas of interest during the course were Bioinstrumentation, BioMEMs and Computational Modeling.
