In the role of Sector Consultant (Oil and Gas), State Bank of India, I am advising the Project Finance Division of SBI on the relevant techno commercial aspects of City Gas Distribution Projects and other hydrocarbon projects, based on the detailed feasibility reports prepared by industry consultants, as and when referred to me for opinion by the lending institution.

I was appointed Member of Expert Group formed by ONGC in August 2021, comprising of three members, two from the public sector and one from World Bank. The Procurement Policy Procedures, Manuals and Tender Documents for critical offshore oil industry contracts were modified in line with global oil industry practices and World Bank procedures.

Acquired diverse technical and commercial experience during career spanning 38 years in ONGC, with postings in Assam (8 years), Dehradun (8 years), Ahmedabad (10 years), Mumbai (8 years) and New Delhi (4 years).After graduating as an Electrical and Electronics Engineer from BITS Pilani, and working in private sector for about one year, I joined ONGC as Assistant Executive Engineer (Electrical) in 1982. Worked in various technical roles such as oil field operations, equipment management, engineering projects, major repairs of offshore drilling rigs, etc., for 25 years. Moved on to commercial roles comprising of contract management, procurement of oil field goods and services, and procurement policy management for 12 years. I rose to the position of Executive Director in the company in 2016, and was holding the the key managerial position of Chief of Materials Management of ONGC, upon superannuation in November 2019.
