Lead design, execution & monitoring of programs, strategic needs & business context analysis for group companies in petroleum refining & distribution (70% of my focus area), steel, BPO & infrastructure projects across 9 states of India, regular interface with government, local communities, donors, NGOs & other stakeholders, besides advice and strategic inputs to the business heads for social risk mitigation measures. Hand-holding a 200 member team having 3 Deputy General Managers & 6 Senior Managers supporting down the reporting lines. Overseeing various programs, capacity building & knowledge strengthening of the partner institutions and teams. Have introduced innovative programs, project development tools & systems’ strengthening.

Serving as a Program Coordinator for this Investment Climate Reform work in partnership with Government of Rajasthan I contributed as follows;* Led the development of investment promotion & policy reform work for tourism and Energy efficient municipal lighting projects * Conducted detailed sectoral and stakeholder analysis for auto component sector* Led the creation and functioning of Public-Private Dialogue (PPD) platforms for collaboration of wide range of stakeholders on policy and investment related issues for various sectors.* Carried out in-depth analysis of all the investment proposals received by the state government to advise the Investment Promotion Agency on areas for improvement, critical bottlenecks and overall investment promotion strategy. * Developed M&E framework for the program* Handled all administrative, financial management, contract management, coordination with government counterparts & other program management activities to assist Global Manager based in Dhaka

Program Manager for IFC-Cairn Linkage Program, a unique partnership between IFC, Cairn (IFC's Oil& Gas Investment client) and Government of Rajasthan, aimed at linking the local community effectively and positively with the large scale investments of Cairn in Barmer in order to ensure sustainability of the environment, community relationships and overall inclusive growth of one of the poorest regions in the country, further challenged by its remote location and climatic conditions. Led and gave strategic direction to this USD 6 Million project. Guided teams of 5 implementation partners with mandates of women & child health, dairy and enterprise development, besides actively advising Cairn management on relationships with local government, tie ups with other donors & partners. Designed long term sustenance plan & institutionalisation of Enterprise Centre (EC), which generated revenues of USD 6.6 Million, & mobilized support and linkages with government and various partners. EC today functions as an autonomous institution under Cairn’s guidance. Coordinated introduction of “Strategic Community Investment Strategy” & “Financial Valuation Tool for Community Investments” as long term inputs to Cairn’s CSR strategy. Also presented these ‘Thought Leadership’ tools at various Global CSR Summits where it attracted the interests of many corporates. Also worked closely with Microfinance and World Bank Institute teams for Development Market place and other such events.

Led the activities of the company with a team of managers and field staff besides subject matter consultants hired from time to time. Developed comprehensive vision documents and business plans for various sectors important for the state such as fruits & vegetables, handlooms, handicrafts, jute, and textile parks under PPP mode. PPP mandates and private sector investment worth millions were developed besides active policy advisory role to government of Bihar. Also coordinated the activities of other IL&FS group companies working in Bihar from time to time. Conceptualised and generated funding from DC Handlooms for development of handloom clusters across the entire state and led the entire team. Up-scaled the skill development activities of IL&FS under the special skill development initiative to move from 1 centre to more than 5 centres and developed comprehensive management systems for these centres’ operations.

As Technical Advisor, Orissa Program provided policy advisory support to the state government fro business development and growth in rural industries, rice milling, cashew processing, NTFPs, fisheries etc. The program also involved guidance and hand-holding of program implementation team consisting of 25 professionals and state government officials • Established linkages of state agencies with professional organizations and information dissemination mechanisms for better outreach of programs • Helped organizing of prestigious events and business tie-ups for MSMEs of the state to generate business tie-ups • Close monitoring for linkages of small producers’ organisations with FIs and banks leading to infusion of INR 2 Billion into sectors such as rice cultivation, Non Timber Forest products (NTFPs), Rural Industries etc. to help sustain higher outputs, access to better technologies and production enhancement activities. • Conceptualised the revival of small producers’ cooperatives, registration of Mutually Aided Cooperatives MACs) across sectors and their linkages with support institutions and marketing channels As Program Manager for Kota Handloom Cluster, Rajasthan my work involved complete supervision of program implementation for business development for 3000 odd weaver households spread across 3 districts of Rajasthan. The program led to more than 35% growth through a mix of technological & managerial training, organising & linkage interventions. Effective involvement of state government, local associations and other networks besides a number of national/international organizations with fund support worth INR 35 Million was achieved. Developed & contributed in a series of capacity building workshops for about 40 NGOs and 30 senior government officials Conceptualized & led the historic development of the weavers’ federation in the region for IPR protection. This involved creation of creating and nurturing Self Help Groups, Cooperatives, Federations etc.

Coordinate the works of other project managers working on specific sub sectors, developing partner relationshsips, policy level inputs to senior management, networking with donros and development of funding proposals, act as key contact for all policy/partnership/conceptual issues related to Rural Non Farm Sector and conduct trainings, seminars and other capacity building activities.

Worked as a Geologist working on various mineral development, exploration, conservation and administration activities and projects. Developed tenement maps for 7 districts of the state & a comprehensive database of all previous projects since 1960 to collate diverse sets of information to aid as a macro planning and mineral administration tool in the state. Also developed mineral development projects for various industrial minerals. My exploration for cement grade limestone led to cement plants established in the region. Another major discovery was of a key industrial mineral, wollastonite.
