Lacework is a cloud security platform in the Cloud-Native Application Protection Platform (CNAPP) category. I support teams that innovate, develop and operate the data ingestion platform and related functions. The platforms are mission critical and collect control plane data from the customers’ public cloud accounts to power the CNAPP products. I inherited, re-built and grew the team that in turn built multiple platforms and services that were considered to be well built, well maintained, overcame significant technical debt and helped accelerate product development by leveraging our platforms with modest sized teams. With a strong, tight knit team of Technical Leaders, Engineering Managers and Product Managers we were culture carriers and helped set the standard for operational and engineering excellence, delivery, engagement and responsiveness. I am also one of the Incident Managers to help coordinate high severity incidents and help drive a culture of blameless learning through Incident Reviews. I play an active role in hiring (question bank, sourcing and recruiting, candidate review). I also led cross-functional efforts to deliver compliance, threat monitoring and anomaly detection products for Kubernetes and Cloud. I learnt a lot from the numerous opportunities - scaling the organization, coaching, mentoring and working cross functionally.

BiQ (Application and transaction analytics) is part of the AppDynamics Application Performance Monitoring (APM) platform. It helps stakeholders understand the impact of the application’s performance on their business. I was one of the first engineers on the team that developed BiQ, a complementary product to APM. I helped build and grow the product, platform and the team in various capacities as an individual contributor, tech lead, engineering manager and then specialized into platforms and products. It was a true 0-N experience of partnering with the founders, product managers, early adopters, cross functional teams, while adapting to technology shifts like On-prem to Saas, bespoke to Kubernetes, proprietary to OpenTelemetry etc while operating one of the (at the time) large Kafka and ElasticSearch platforms for near real time analytics. Over time I saw my responsibilities grow to support teams that were tasked with improving the time to value and installation experience of the telemetry agents (Zero Agent Installer).

BusinessEvents is a combination of technologies and features that allows customers to specify complex business rules and execute them on medium sized data. It has a rule engine, state machine, stream processing and pattern matching engine, and a distributed data grid that allows the product to scale horizontally. Some of this work was inspired by an open source, streaming SQL engine (github/StreamCruncher) that I developed in my free time before joining Tibco. I built and maintained various parts of the product. I visited many customers to train and debug our deployments.

I developed features for the IBM integration suite of products (Specializing in SQL translation to improve testability and delivery velocity)

I developed automation services (backoffice automation like end of day order reconciliation, report generation) for clients like Credit Suisse and HP.

I developed v2 of the WebLogic Integration RDBMS Adapter which resulted in a 7-10x increase in throughput.

I developed features for IBM WebSphere Integration suite.

I prototyped and developed in-house procurement and travel automation software.
