Social Media Marketing Fellow

At the Nature Center, I work with Fair Food Matters, an organization dedicated to empowering younger learners to think critically about food and promoting community-based food justice. Fair Food Matters operates through an after school program at Woodward School For Technology And Research called Club Grub. I coordinate service-learning programming with Cub Grub, recruit, train, and oversee Club Grub volunteers.

At SHARE I oversaw the Cooking Series Project by interviewing, writing, transcribing, and editing the second edition of their annual cookbook. I developed interview questions and conducted officially recorded interviews with Kalamazoo community members. The cookbook cataloged the historical and present significance of Black foodways

During this winter internship with the Smithsonian's Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage, I researched the role of Black Americans in the Western Appalachia ginseng trade. I produced web content and experienced hands-on training and one-on-one engagement with knowledgeable staff and professionals in the field.

At Propel, I assisted with the creation of a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), or a strategic social-justice-oriented policy that would structure Propel's approach to equity. I collaborated with the Advocacy Development Officer to formulate and implement the plan.

Conceptualized and devleoped social media content across all of Oxbridge Acadeny's social media platforms. Photographed promotional events and edited social media content utlizing software such as Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop.
