Aardvark Drilling is a drilling contractor in Ontario who provide expertise in Environmental, Geotechnical and Hydrogeological Drilling, as well as well abandonment. My time spent at Aardvark as a summer student was an incredibly valuable experience. Not only did I learn about the different types of drilling, and purposes for drilling - but I was also able to speak with the technicians and Geologists on site and learn about their role. I had the opportunity of being on many different projects across Ontario, and was able to experience and learn about a wide variety of industries. My role at Aardvark was to help the Driller and Helper with any and all tasks needed on the drill site as well as in the shop. Through this I was taught about different tooling and small engines. Everyday I learned something new at Aardvark - and this made the job challenging, exciting, and engaging.

Axcess Acadia is a program for students with developmental disabilities, and was developed to address the need for inclusive post secondary education program in the Atlantic Provinces. My responsibility is to tutor a student in this program studying environmental science in order to review the materials covered in class. I was employed as a summer student at a new branch located in Fort McMurray. My responsibilities at concept included developing and maintaining their safety orientation powerpoint, reception (administration, payroll, cleaning, office organization), as well as fleet managing (truck repairs, locations, drivers, inspections) and data entry (reading electrical drawings and creating spreadsheets on Excel). Working closely with professionals in a small office setting was a very valuable experience.

A team environment brought the highest level of customer service with multiple responsibilities in a very busy lakeside restaurant. This was achieved by a fast pace and strong focus on relating to customers on a personal level.
