About Asif Chowdhury

I just want to pursue interesting projects, with fun loving and warm hearted people, which provide positive experiences for audiences at scale 🤷‍♂️Things to know about me:My greatest asset is my performance marketing network. I'm fortunate to have made friends with those that have driven strong growth for some of the fastest growing European scale-ups: Wonderbly, Huel, Gousto, Simba Sleep, Deliveroo, HelloFresh, Depop, Typeform, Busuu, lastminute.com and more. Some of my greatest wins as an in house marketer were borrowed ideas 👀-Whilst being very data driven, I'm a creative marketer at heart (both in terms of the funnel experience, and creative production for acquisition marketing).Across all marketing roles in my career, I've worked incredibly close with videographers/graphic designers/creative agencies/heads of brand to ensure our advertising creative is 🔥🔥🔥 and relevant for our audiences: PERKBOX* Project led Perkbox's first ever tube campaign.* After hiring our in house videographer, I directed Perkbox's first big budget paid social creative video shoots, which I co-wrote with our in house copywriters.* Outsourced paid social creative production to an offshore company in order to both drastically increase creative volume and reduce CPAs or scale results sustainably across channels.SILKFRED* Successfully launched the blog shopping funnel at SilkFred, as editorial lead. * Launched an unofficial FB ad format test: Photo albums.* Spearhead our paid social content creation meetings in partnership with our creative shoots lead.-My motivations:1. My long term goal was to become a web based entrepreneur. The career I built over the last few years was with the goal of moulding me into an effective growth catalyst within startups, with a view to eventually build and scale a business in the distant future. My most recent project can be found at: http://www.digistudents.co.uk/2. That ambition has now taken a back seat as I pursue my passion for hip hop music (I've performed twice for both SilkFred and Perkbox), whilst still being able to enjoy the absolute thrill of growing companies rapidly.I'm fortunate to love my career, and still be enthralled by the startup/scale-up ecosystem, advertising, and entrepreneurship. 3. Ultimately, my greatest motivation is to spend time on things I'm extremely passionate about, rather than to accumulate wealth. Having said that, I do want to accumulate a large amount of wealth, but it's predominantly so that I can distribute it back into the world in a meaningful way.

Interim Performance Marketing Lead

London, England, Gb

After the departure of our Head of Performance Marketing, I led the performance marketing and creative strategy at Perkbox across search & social channels - during a very successful transition period. I managed an average monthly budget of £500K during this time. Hired a paid social exec to replace myself, and co-hired a senior team member to take charge of PPC advertising within Perkbox. I also outsourced creative production to an offshore agency to boost our campaign performance, to great effect. Finally, I headhunted the video director from Mastered to dramatically improve Perkbox's video inventory for advertising. As a result, we tripled our quarterly FB & IG spend to almost £1M (whilst maintaining stable CPAs), and decreased monthly LinkedIn CPLs by 40% by end of year (vs Q2 averages).

Paid Social Lead

London, England, Gb

Between June - September 2015, I independently managed a FB budget of £120K per month (split across the advertising of 2 of our online talent programs: Fashion Photography and Session Styling). By the end of September, I had managed to use my combined social media advertising budget of £500K to bring in 35K registrations of interest and 9350+ applications for our online talent programs, resulting in 1500 enrollments (> £1.5m revenue). This success led to Mastered becoming VC funded at a Series A level in order to accelerate its growth further. My next big project was in early 2016, where I spent a combined £100K a month for 4 months to advertise our Streetwear and Nails programs (£75K & 25K per month respectively). In this period I generated enough applications for our sales team to generate £650K+ in revenue. In the summer of 2016 I took on a very different type of challenge in advertising a free short course called Collaboration Mastered. I managed a paid social budget of £150K across 6 weeks, generating 25K sign ups to our course as part of a wider lead generation strategy. I then focused with our marketing communications team on converting the leads from Collaboration Mastered into joining our 10 month accelerators launching in 2017, with each place being priced at £4200. The 2017 accelerators are split into 6 disciplines: Photography, Hairstyling, Makeup, Fashion Styling, Art Direction and Accessories Design.Since then, I have spent £1.1M on paid social from September 2016 to March 2017. This was to advertise our 6 accelerator programs more directly, to sell the remaining places available. This resulted in £3.9M revenue from the total ad spend. Between May - mid July 2017, I spent £400K to allow the admissions team to so far generate £1m+ in revenue for the 2018 Accelerator. Account Executive

Glow Digital Media is a global social media direct response advertising company. It's one of 14 global marketing partners of Facebook (SPMD - Strategic Preferred Marketing Developer) and an official Marketing Platform Partner of Twitter. In 2014, Glow was named by Deloitte as the 19th fastest growing tech company in the UK - ahead of other big names in the top 50 list such as Just Eat and Skyscanner.Glow has so far raised a total of $8.3 million in order to fund its global expansion strategy ($1.3 million seed funding in 2013, followed by $7 million funding in 2014). I was part of the Glow "University Program" as an Account Coordinator, undertaking this training program in order to become a full fledged Account Executive. After doing well in handling my first individual client in previous months, I was given independent responsibility of two of our American clients in early January 2015 - this was in order to support our NYC office and to provide me with some exposure and experience in building transatlantic relations. Following on from this, in February I was given complete operational responsibility of one of Glow's most active client accounts in EMEA (Unibet), after having performed well in a supporting role under a senior account manager. Whilst handling this responsibility, I was also heavily involved in client communication for this account in support of one of our other senior account managers. I was responsible for Unibet's social advertising performance in 3 regions: UK, Belgium and Australia. After continuing Glow's strong performance for the Unibet account in advertising their sports gambling offers, the client awarded us a significant test budget for the advertising of a new casino product called Maria (in both the UK and Denmark). Edit: Glow announced its acquisition in February 2016 (https://medium.com/@WhiteStarVC/glow-media-and-adtz-combine-forces-to-become-adglow-9eabb66b0c9a#.9eemfpyas)
