•Manage Distance Education staff according to unit and university objectives in accordance with unit and University policies •Allocate resources appropriately to achieve Distance Education and university goals •Assist with budget development and budget management for Distance Education •Recommend and approve purchases of supplies and materials needed for distance learning on campus.•Establish policies and procedures to ensure development and delivery of high quality Distance Education programs and courses •Develop and maintain relationships within the campus community to advance the interests of Distance Education faculty and students including enhanced distance education student engagement and distance-friendly access to student services •Communicate with other university support services to coordinate support for online faculty, students, and potential students in an attempt to make the entire online education experience in the department’s programs more user-friendly, effective, and seamless•Assist in the development of new online initiatives and programs in cooperation with Academic Affairs•Works with faculty to develop appropriately unified course format and packaging to provide students with seamless and user-friendly online learning as they take different courses•Create processes and procedures to ensure student and faculty technical support •Keep current of new or innovative ideas by participating in self-development programs and attending local, state and national professional meetings. •Schedule online course offerings for traditional and accelerated online classes• Manage service-level agreements with third-party vendors (AdobeConnect, Lynda.com, etc.) • Ensure services provided meet online student needs and concerns, reaching timely and effective resolution to maintain the quality of the educational experience in cooperation with academic and student services and related groups.
