    As the front desk employee of a hotel with 115 hotel rooms and conference rooms, my morning started by setting up the reception for the day. I checked if everyone checked-in the day before, or if there were any no shows. I made sure housekeeping was given the correct info for the day ahead, including any special requests or special guests staying. In the meantime, our check-out procedure would begin. I asked our guests if their stay was a pleasant one and I settled their last bill with them. Meanwhile, I answered the phone. Questions over the phone ranged from making a new reservation, to requests for an upcoming stay or questions concerning the newly opened holiday houses for rent across the street, Ehzerburg. In the afternoon, the check-in procedure would start. I welcomed the guest to our hotel and explained to them were they would be staying. During the day, I rented out bikes to our hotel guests, helped our guests making hiking plans in the area, referred them to the must-see places in the area, and helped them with any other questions they had. Front Desk Supervisor in trainingAs the front desk supervisor to be, I was in training to be able to make the rosters for our 8 people team. Together with my direct colleague, we made sure the team was working at their top potential by coaching and motivating them. Any larger problems were discussed with the managers, and with their input, eventually solved on our own. My responsibilities also included the checking of invoices from booking agents, keeping tabs on our availability and making sure rooms were available on the booking sites accordingly.
