Heading National Data Repository (NDR), a state-of-the-art national Exploration and Production (E&P) Data Center of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) under the aegis of Directorate General of Hydrocarbons.NDR is responsible for powering and facilitating Open Acreage Licensing Program (OALP) and Discovered Small Fields (DSF) for bidding out open acreages and discovered fields respectively for exploration and production of hydrocarbons in the country under Hydrocarbon Licensing Policy (HELP) of India. NDR also collaborates with industry and academia for promotion of E&P activities in India.

Prospect risking, volumetrics and uncertainty analysis.- QC and review G&G work and geomodels for Panna, Mukta and Tapti Fields. - Participate in evaluating acreages or blocks on East/West Coast of India for exploration. Advising on geophysical studies BG India for opportunity screening, prospect generation and exploratory - QC of acquisition/processing 3D campaigns in Tapti and Mahanadi offshore basins. - Pre-stack simultaneous/elastic inversion of Tapti for identifying and optimizing development locations in Mid/ South Tapti fields.- Coaching and mentoring to juniors and graduates, guide project work of students from IIT Bombay.

Last position held in ONGC. Joined as Geophysicist in ONGC in Dec 1985.I worked for more than 22 years with Oil and Natural Gas Corporation of India (ONGC) Ltd., in various functional capacities and supervisory roles starting my carreer as a Geophysicist. My last assignment with ONGC was as a Chief Geophysicist at Institute of Reservoir Studies, Ahmedabad.Major activities at ONGC include: - Reservoir characterisation studies for the development of various onshore/offshore oil and gas fields of ONGC, including G-1, D-1, Heera, Balol and Mumbai High. The work involved using advanced geophysical techniques like attributes studies, seismic inversion, AVO and rock physics for characterizing the reservoir, collaborating with geologist and reservoir engineer in building geological model, in-place/reserves estimation and reservoir simulation . - As part of an expert team, I did the evaluation of many overseas exploration Blocks and fields for ONGC Videsh Ltd., a subsidiary of ONGC managing its overseas operations and holdings. For OVL, I also carried out geophysical work under "Pore-to-Pipe" FDP studies of fields of Sudan and Venezuela. - 4D Project for thermal front monitoring of in-situ combustion process in Balol Field, India from 2003-2007 for testing the technology and field implementation. The project included feasibility study ( using rock physics and fluid substitution modeling), planning/acquisition of base and subsequent two monitor surveys per year, time-lapse data analysis and 4D processing (cross-equalisation of multiple vintage datasets) and 4D interpretation. The study resulted in devising/modifying strategies for air injection (in-situ combustion) in the northern part of balol Field and in Lanwa Field.- In earlier years, Gravity-Magnetic acquisition/interpretation and 2D/3D seismic acquisition in various onshore fields of India, including Himalayan Thrust/Fold belt.
