Asit Kumar Roy is presently serving as the Vice-President(Systems) at the Financial Benchmarks India Pvt Ltd, a Reserve Bank of India (RBI) regulated Independent Benchmarks Administrator in India, which develops and administers benchmarks relating to money market, government securities, foreign exchange and derivatives thereof in India.Asit was previously a central banker while working in his earlier assignment as a Manager in the Reserve Bank of India, the central bank of the country. He has 30+ years of rich working experience and knowledge in different facets of central banking activities in the area of external investments and operations, foreign exchange reserve management, IMF quota funding, Gold deposit and placement, Asian Clearing Union transactions, international aid receipts from the global multilateral institutions like the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, IMF, etc. , payments and settlement system, monetary policy, financial markets, supervision of banks and non-banks institutions, currency issue and management, cyber security, Project Management, etc.Asit was awarded with gold medal for Exceptional and Exemplary Service to the Reserve Bank of India by the then RBI Governor, Dr. Urijit Patel on the occasion of Republic Day celebration on 26th January, 2017.Asit is a certified Associate from the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF) besides his degree from the University of Calcutta. Asit also attended seminar on Reserve Management in the Bank for International Settlements(BIS) in its headquarters at Basel in Switzerland. Also made study visits on Business Continuity Plan at Banque de France and Societe Generale at Paris in France.
