As the Underground Injection Control (UIC) Coordinator for the state of Georgia, completed grant applications, managed the state’s UIC well inventory, filed reports to the EPA, tracked incoming renewal and new permit applications, handled public inquiries and complaints, and developed the annual UIC program budget and inspection plan; coordinated, tracked, and completed compliance reviews, well inspections, and enforcement actions; developed and updated boilerplate and SOP documents and collaborated on program guidance documents.

Reviewed hydrogeologic models, designs, well installation and abandonment reports, and site proposals, often providing formal responses. Provided hydrogeologic consultation for units in Wastewater Program. Processed applications and wrote no-discharge (Underground Injection Control and Land Application System) state permits in accordance with federal and state laws, rules, and regulations. Communicated by phone, email, reports, and meetings with state and federal regulators, technical stakeholders, permittees, and the public. Assisted with public hearings and stakeholder meetings. Tracked and curated permitting and compliance files across state and federal databases.

Assisted in numerous research projects with laboratory group and Geology, Geography, and Natural Resources departments. Wrote several successful grant applications, including for the 2017 GSA Student Grant. Designed and completed field campaign for hydrologic assessment and satellite ground-truthing at Lake Allatoona, Georgia. Gave quarterly research presentations. Helped host Fulbright scholars and visiting speakers. Assisted with departmental and laboratory field trips. Mentored lab members and broader water resources group.

Igneous Petrology (GEOL 4010L), Mineralogy (GEOL 3010L), and Physical Geology (GEOL 1121 & GEOL 1121L) to geology and non-geology majors. Updated, designed, and graded assignments and exams. Managed microscopes, laboratory materials, and samples for eight laboratory sections. Attended symposiums and workshops to develop teaching skills and portfolio.

Led tours of the J. G. Beachum Drinking Water Treatment Plant. Developed graphic design and content for materials such as a Home Water Assessment. Taught educational modules to 300 children and adults.

Worked with clients to design business cards, brochures, and other promotional materials. Assessed client needs, taking projects from concept through production.

May, 2011 and May, 2013. Southeastern Suture of the Appalachian Margin Experiment (SESAME), University of Georgia, NSF funded project. Installed and calibrated Flexible Array Seismometer stations. Inspected and resealed previously deployed stations. Taught basic mineralogy module to over 100 4th - 6th grade students in rotating small groups during one-day workshop at the Georgia Research & Education Center, Blairsville, GA.
