Often we find ourselves chasing "happiness," but happiness, like other feelings, is fleeting. What most of us want is fulfillment. We want to know that we are living in alignment with our values, that what we say matters matches what we spend our time on. This is no easy feat. I help clients build intentionality into their lives- both personal and work lives. This can take many forms and its as individual as people are. Some clients work on relationships and others in their work. And regardless of where our work starts, all clients see their work in one area benefit every area of their lives.At the root of this work is self-care. Self-care is not the definition given by the consumerism dictionary, centered around things or services we buy like massages and manicures. Self-care at its most basic is about getting curious about what WE want, about what would make US fulfilled (versus what we think SHOULD fulfill us because that's what we've heard or what we see online), and intentionally building a life that fuels that. It all sounds simple, but it isn't. Why? Because most of us have never been taught or even allowed to ask our selves what we want. And as a result, we don't have the skills to do this work on our own and to follow through without second-guessing and letting guilt and shame take over and sabotage our efforts. But some of us are brave and have decided that we've had enough of going in circles. We are ready to do the work to get out of the cycle, even if we don't know where to start.
