Every five years, you get a year of your life back. At 4 Day Week Global, we’re working with companies, nonprofits, and governments to implement the #4dayweek at scale. Ultimately, we think we can create millions of years that people can spend with family, with friends, practicing hobbies and perfecting crafts, and making the world a better place.My latest book, SHORTER: WORK BETTER, SMARTER AND LESS-- HERE'S HOW documented the global 4-day week movement with it was just getting started, and just becoming aware of itself. It’s a sequel to my 2016 book REST: WHY YOU GET MORE DONE WHEN YOU WORK LESS, which explores the hidden role rest plays in the success of super-creative and -productive people. My books have been translated into more than 20 languages languages.My academic training is in history and sociology of science, a field that blends history, anthropology, and sociology. My research uses ethnography, interviews, historical case studies, and literary analysis (and whatever other tools are lying around) to understand how people and technology co-create worlds. I’ve also worked as a technology futurist and forecaster, and corporate consultant.
