Over 15 years of multifaceted experience of working with the international and national organizations on higher education, democracy and governance, parliamentary strengthening, skills’ development and capacity building programs endows me to optimally and innovatively deliver in diverse arenas of the development sector. The international academic and learning experiences enhanced my knowledge and skills to effectively work and contribute for my communities and institutions. Currently working as the Program Manager at the USAID’s Higher Education System Strengthening Activity (HESSA), representing Institute of International Education (IIE) in Pakistan and HESSA, Visiting Faculty at Governance & Public Policy Department, NUML in Islamabad. Completed Master’s in Public Policy from the Crawford School of Public Policy, Australian National University in 2019, focusing on the development and social policy processes, policy design, advocacy, gender and development. Previously worked as Program Manager in a USAID project titled Training for Pakistan (2014-2017), and managed various capacity building and institutional strengthening programs with the government entities, academia, and CSOs. Designed and implemented the USAID sponsored multiple long and short-term programs, including the energy sector youth internship (40% female interns), with placements across the country in several energy entities, capacity building programs for the government agencies/departments, also girls education and skills-building and US based scholars’ management. Worked in USAID’s Pakistan Legislative Strengthening Project (2006-2010), supported the project leadership across the program components, and provided legislative research support to the parliamentarians. Completed Legislative Fellowship Program of the U.S. Department of State-2010, had excellent learning experiences of political, legislative, and social systems of the U.S. Completed Feminist Leadership, Movement Building and Rights Institute, South Asia-2014, Bangladesh, and gained skills for effective activism and advocacy on human rights and gender. Previously served as a General Secretary of Pakistan U.S. Alumni Network, Islamabad/Rawalpindi Chapter and voluntarily worked for the community development, women empowerment, peace-building programs activities, mentorship program, and youth related initiatives. A passionate, committed professional with effective leadership, interpersonal, communication, problem solving, critical thinking, adaptability, stakeholders’ engagement, research, analytical, policy and advocacy skills.

I work closely with higher education stakeholders and 16 partner universities to provide overall support in implementing project workplan and trainings, directly contribute to enhancing student support services component, which is working across six focal areas: financial aid, career services, student leadership, alumni development, student entrepreneurship/microenterprise development, and mental health. An effective team member for higher education work in Pakistan, has been instrumental in establishing working relations with higher education partners and 16 public universities. Supporting technical team leads in working closely with the leadership, faculty, and staff of universities and to co-create work plans to strengthen student affairs offices offering support services, that include important domains which can positively impact student experiences across their university life cycle and equip graduating students with soft skills to make them better employable or entrepreneurs.Established and supporting the first of its kind communities of practice across various focal areas, comprising faculty members, leaders, and administrative staff from 16 public HEIs, sharing their learning, experiences, best practices, and collaborate for enhancing student support services.
