Devised impactful internal/external communication strategies for this leading asset manager, with US$2 trillion AUM circa across BNY Mellon IM group, its eight investment firms & global distribution in 19 regions. Global Distribution Executive Committee member; International Product Committee member; DE&I Council communication counsel.Responsibilities: Strategic reputational positioning, building narratives, trusted counsel, stakeholder collaboration & management, communications planning, media relations, content strategy, targeted brand & fund campaigns; global rebrands, societal change sponsorships, thought leadership, crisis/issues management & regulatory investigations & fines.Achievements:- Re-engineered an award-winning communications function, nurtured 10 high-calibre communication practitioners & led 12 PR agencies. Within 12 months of joining, I successfully transformed EMEA communications managing various stakeholder channels. Thereafter, I expanded my role to lead APAC & LatAm communications. Increased high impact media coverage six-fold. In 2020, I created the firm’s UK media perception audit, earning BNY Mellon IM a UK top rating vs key competitors.- In Feb 2022, launched the ‘Pathway to Inclusive Investment’ study which achieved strong internal/external exposure globally, including Sky News & Bloomberg. This DE&I initiative won numerous awards.- Co-led the firm’s first ever thought leadership paper in 2019, which generated over 120 pieces of key media coverage globally, winning various awards.- Oxford & Cambridge Boat Race gender equality initiative in 2015 & the firm gifting its sponsorship to Cancer Research UK, a world’s first in 2017. Both won many awards.- Built and implemented leadership positions in new and existing regions across the UK, EMEA and APAC markets; in 2016, positioned Alcentra as a leading private debt specialist to increase assets in the EMEA institutional market; positively changed Newton’s negative perception.

Built the corporate communications function for Hermes, Equity Ownership Services (adviser of £330 billion worth of assets) and its parent, the BT Pension Scheme. Developed the reputation growth strategy to increase corporate visibility, product and capability presence in the institutional and wholesale (retail) market across the UK, Middle East, North America and Australia at a critical time in the business’ evolution. Reported to a member of the Hermes Board.Responsible for internal and external communications strategy, stakeholder management, media relations, content strategy and crisis/issues management, strategic brand and product campaigns and thought leadership, provided strong counsel. Strategically aligned internal communications by developing different senior leadership communication platforms.Achievements:• Successfully created and launched Hermes’ Political Risk paper front run by CEO Saker Nusseibeh CBE, with an exclusive front-page FTfm article, followed by Wall Street Journal, Daily Telegraph, BBC News, Sky News Jeff Randall Live, Fund Strategy cover story. Effectively put Hermes on the map amongst clients and peers.• Built Hermes Equity Ownership Services’ reputational building programme on a range of ESG requirements, such as remuneration policies changes in FT100 companies with coverage appearing in The Guardian, Mail on Sunday, Evening Standard and Germany’s Handelsblatt. Created media visibility on public corporate engagements (including News Corp, Deutsche Bank, JP Morgan, and Walt Disney), UK / international broadsheets, trades and newswires.• Drove corporate acquisitions communication for the private equity boutique from Henderson Global Investors.

Created internal and external communications across Europe, Asia, and Americas (£285 billion AUM / 16 countries – including bonds, equities, infrastructure, property, alternatives and cash). Reported to Head of Corporate Communications, a member of Distribution Board. • Trusted counsel to senior management on corporate affairs, message development and reputational risks. Forged relationships with internal stakeholders and journalists across national newspapers, trade investment press and consumer financial publications.• Led the reputation build for M&G’s international business expansion, including launch across Europe, South Africa and Asia. Integrated markets under co-ordinated corporate affairs function to leverage synergies, economies of scale and efficiencies.• Built press office infrastructure and devised operating practices – led a talented team overseeing seven PR agencies across Europe and Asia – serving as critical part of distribution efforts. Introduced a successful PR under-graduate internship programme to M&G.• Developed socially responsible investment policy and led Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes.• Led M&G’s role in Prudential PLC results communication; managed corporate affairs programmes to reinforce group-wide strategy. Rebuilt and turned-around M&G’s reputation via high-impact media plans, campaigns and media relations into the powerhouse it became in 2010.

Responsible for media relations for Colonial First State Investments and Colonial Insurance UK, creating company profiling, equity and fixed income media opportunities. Created the positioning for the Stewart Ivory takeover. Gained invaluable experience in building effective, results driven communications function.
