Founded Ishan Advisors (www.ishanadvisors.com) to provide boutique strategy consulting and executive education services aimed at top executives of global and SME companies. I worked on market entry and technology/operations strategy efforts, as well as organizational effectiveness initiatives. I taught programs for mid-tier to senior high potential executives at blue chip companies at locations in North America, the EU and Pacific Asia. My clients for consulting and executive education services included companies like J&J, Dunkin' Brand, SAP, FedEx, ConAgra Foods, and Nielsen.

Taught executive programs for blue chip companies on strategy, leadership and innovation. Faculty in multiple open programs, including the flagship, Orchestrating Winning Performance, and in custom, organization specific programs. Invited keynote speaker for very senior level audiences (including CEOs) of some of the world's largest companies.Conducted research for my next book (working title: "The Leader in a Digital World"), which will address how leadership norms are changing in a world in which the actions of mid-tier executives can affect stock prices by magnitudes formerly solely in the purview of CXOs. Featured columnist on the topic for Sloan Management Review; have also published articles in a range of media outlets globally, including, Forbes, The Economic Times, and The South China Morning Post.

I co-led a small design team that created Hult's redesigned MBA, which won the 2014 AMBA Award for Innovation. Interviews with 90+ global CEOs and top HR executives, as well as the ideas from "The Spider's Strategy" anchored this effort, which eliminated 40% of the former program. I taught MBA/EMBA courses on Organizational Behavior, Change Management and Supply Network Management.

In addition to my work at Ishan, I taught entrepreneurship and managing global businesses in Babson's MBA and BBA programs.

I started and led Forrester's strategy consulting business, ground up. Instead of the traditional large team, inside-out approach to consulting, pioneered an outside-in, primary research driven methodology. My team executed projects solely for senior executives of companies which were either creating new digital technologies or were considering deploying them on an enterprise-wide scale. Among others, personally led projects for an executive officer of SAP, the CIO of J&J's medical devices group, and the Chairman of Bloomberg.

As the second ranking executive officer of TurboChef and a key member of the alliance leadership team led by Maytag’s CEO, I oversaw technology transfer to Maytag and shaped the strategy for a $100 million residential product launch. I also negotiated intellectual property partnerships with LG Electronics/LGSI and MIT and led the development of next-generation technologies. Some of those technologies would today earn the "Internet of Things" moniker. At my direction, we used the chips and software then available to enable the interconnecting of TurboChef units and cross-connecting to other appliances.

At Arthur D. Little (1994-98), where I became Director (i.e., partner) in record time, I served on the leadership teams of the Manufacturing Technology and Consumer Industries practices; I had co-founded the former. These practices often applied my doctoral research to improve client operations and develop new products. A major project I personally led created a next generation product that industry experts said could not be done. I was an advisor to the CEO of Dunkin' Brands and the Board of Gallo Wineries.

As an Assistant Professor at INSEAD (France) (1992-1994), I taught R&D/technology strategy, advanced manufacturing, and quality in the Executive, MBA, and Ph.D. programs.
