Customising generic healthcare software packages for a specific hospital. Design, implementation and testing of an application to send warnings in case of extreme meteorological phenomena.Used technologies:_ Java with GlassFish as an application server_ JAXB to check the XML input files through the XML Schema _ JPA to convert database entities into Java classes_ Velocity to customize the message which will be received by the customer through templates _ JDBC to connect with the database_ PostgreSQL as a databaseProject technical details: The warnings are sent as XML to the "router" system. The "router" system will find out which customers must receive the warning and through which medium (fax, sms, e-mail or ftp). The "router" process prepares the message to be sent according to the medium and the customer's preferences. Afterwards, the "router" process sends an XML message to the communication system with all the information. Finally, the communication system sends the message using a priority queue and a retrying policy.There is also a machine learning system (CBR system) to find out if the weather alert will happen and at which level, taking into account what has happened in the past.
