As a student at Texas State University, I studied political science including philosophical theories of politics from ancient and modern minds. As well as the contemporary political climate internationally and diplomatic relationships between countries with a focus on Latin America. Additionally I have examined constitutional law and the criminal justice system through my minor in criminal justice. I am thoroughly educated on the relationship between police officers and the communities they serve with an emphasis on the role of race in the criminal justice system. Through my Congressional Internship with Congresswoman DeLauro's district office, I was able to implement my bureaucratic skills through communicating effectively with constituents about sensitive situations they were dealing with, or opinionated statements they made about the issues in their communities. I am now employed with the House of Representatives under the office of U.S. Congressman Henry Cuellar where I serve as a Constituent Services Representative and an Outreach Coordinator. I travel across 4 counties to meet with community leaders, elected officials, and constituents to gauge needs and preserve free communication to provide insight for creating legislation in Washington D.C. I communicate with federal agencies to resolve ongoing issues our constituents encounter.
